Born in Southwestern New Mexico and raised in a ranching community, Walkers early influences were cowboys and horsemen.
Walker is the genuine article: he has trained horses, ridden in rodeos and until he moved to Arizona in 1999, Jack was a working cowboy on the Cuevo Canyon Ranch near Ruidoso, New Mexico.
Jacks first effort, a bust of a fellow cowboy, was received with such enthusiasm that Walkers wife, Fran, convinced him to move to Scottsdale, Arizona where he attended workshops, then devoted a year to improving his skills. Walkers background has provided him with endless subject matter.
His detailed bronzes represent a wide range of subjects including horses, dogs, cowboys, kids and wildlife.
