The Yavapai Centennial Gala Committee has chosen Bob Boze Bell's water color "Not-So-Gentle Tamer" to use as their poster for the Prescott Valley Centennial Celebration."Whether they were wrangling ornery kids, or dispatched hogs, chickens, scorpions and rattlesnakes, the women who lived in the Arizona Territory had to be tough." That's exactly what the "Not-So-Gentle Tamer" depicts.
After viewing this illustration, it was then decided to make this iconic image into a monumental bronze. Collaboration began between artist, historian, and author, Bob Boze Bell and local sculptor, Deb Gessner to create this statue.
In order to raise funds for the 10 ft. monument, there will be two smaller bronze sizes availble for sale, 12"and 23" tall.
The enlargement is being created at Bronzesmith Fine Art Foundry and Gallery in Prescott Valley. The 10 ft. clay enlargement will be shown at Bronzesmith's Annual Memorial Day Open House on Friday, May 25th and Saturday, May 26th, so please stop by.
