This diverted her to New York City's Madison Avenue, where she was immediately offered a full-time editorial position. She spent the next 30 years in New York as a writer, editor, publisher, and publishing company executive and founder. Finally, after leaving the New York publishing scene for the artistically inspiring Southwest and Sonoran Desert, she took up her heart's desire –– sculpture, finding its infinite number of views more compelling than painting's one.

Now, at her Silver Box Studios in the Carefree hills, she puts her heart, soul, effort, talent and time into works of art that reflect the motion and emotion of the Arabian and Iberian horses she loves, re-creating them as she knows them –– gorgeous, passionate and expressive –– from observing them closely in the desert, the show ring, and at home in their stables, pastures and paddocks. Captured in in bronze, these equines' –– and canines' –– exquisite beauty, power, extreme athleticism, expressiveness, and wild, sometimes savage interactions are the instantly recognizable hallmarks of Carol's work.
