Jack O'Neill was born in 1953 and raised on the southwest side of Chicago. Utah became his home in 1971 where he attended Utah State University later graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Sculpture and Ceramics.
Horses immediately became a strong part of life.Raising and training young horses, riding in the backcountry and on ranches started a love affair with horses that still exists today.
The smell, the feel, the relationship between horse and rider all influenced the need to express those experiences in sculpture. Asian equine art has had astrong influence on these shapes and forms. Now retired after teaching Ceramics and Sculpture for more than twenty years the horse is still an integral part of life and a favorite form in sculpture.
