Carl Wolf on KAZTV

Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial

Within a couple of days after the tragic deaths of the brave 19 Granite Mountain Hot Shots, Klaus Nietzschmann,   from the Chino Valley Elks Lodge #2842, contacted Ed Reilly owner of Bronzesmith Fine Art Foundry and Gallery to see if he could help facilitate the creation of a monument.  Chino Valley Elks felt it was important to honor these courageous fallen heroes.

Recently Carl Wolf was featured on KAZTV with Sandy Moss on the "Morning Scramble". Here is the link to this video on Carl and more of his spectacular artwork. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kb_NZz4uCJM

Campo Verde High School Mascot

Often times a senior class will give their high school a lasting gift that promotes school spirit and pride. Campo Verde High School senior and Student Council member Daniel Biilington, had an idea and was supported by his fellow Student Council members to have a bronze statue of a howling coyote, the school’s mascot created.
His inquiry has led Bronzesmith artist Carl Wolf to sculpt the 40” piece. Beginning with a smaller sculpture and its approval, Carl is now in the process of sculpting the larger one, which will be cast and dedicated this spring. Opened in 2009, CVHS in Gilbert will have a permanent gift given by the class of 2016.
Please check in again to see further progress of this special gift.

Bronzesmith Annual Open House

Sundance

Klaus told Ed their vision of the monument, and sculptor Debbie Gessner went to work to fulfill the request.

To help raise money for the monument, sales from a smaller version that is a limited edition of 50, is being cast in bronze and is being sold for $1,250 plus tax. All proceeds above the casting costs will go to fund the 6 foot monument. There will be four plaques on the sides of the monument. On the plaques will be the names of the fallen, the Hot Shots prayer, the Granite Mountain Hot Shot logo and a brief description of the day’s heartbreaking events.

The final location of the monument will be Memory Park in Chino Valley.  A view of Granite Mountain is visible from the monument sight. Granite Mountain was a special place in the hearts of these heroes where they bravely fought the Doce wildfire and saved an ancient alligator juniper.

Besides the purchase of a bronze, the Chino Valley Elks have set up several ways to receive tax deductible, charitable donations. For more information on this project, to donate, or order a bronze, please contact Klaus at 928 636-3947.

Please help in any way that you can to make sure these brave heroes are always remembered.

NEWS & EVENTS

Bronzesmith is honored to add Rebecca Tobey to our gallery and website. Her unique style shows through in each piece she creates.

Rebecca was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan and spent most of her childhood in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As a child, Rebecca developed an affinity for animals and nature.

Over the years, Rebecca’s sculptures were characterized by a spiritual intensity and a style that was both sophisticated and primal. The work appeared as sleek silhouettes from afar, but when viewed up close revealed a maze if glyphs and symbols. The sgraffito drawings often portrayed other animals, mountain ranges, human figures, symbols and geometric shapes.

Rebecca currently shows in Tubac,Sedona and Prescott Valley Arizona; Palm Desert, California; Golden and Vail Colorado; Jackson Hole and Cody, Wyoming and her native city of Santa Fe where she works out of her home studio.
